P2 are excited to be taking part in Shared Education this year with Macosquin and St. Eoghan’s P.S. Shared Education has given us the chance to meet with pupils of different backgrounds to build friendships, foster mutual respect, and grow through hands-on experiences in play and nature. Through imaginative play, outdoor adventures, and collaborative learning, the children have enjoyed creating a positive learning environment where every child feels valued and included.
During outdoor learning, pupils take part in shared activities that promote cooperation, turn‑taking, and respect. Working together on creative and problem‑solving tasks—such as building, role play, and simple investigations—helps children develop teamwork skills and value one another’s ideas.
Children explore nature as a shared environment, building curiosity and a sense of responsibility for caring for the world around them. Outdoor play also provides natural opportunities to practise PATHS strategies, helping pupils manage emotions, resolve small conflicts, and form positive friendships.
By learning side by side, children not only develop essential skills but also gain a deeper understanding of each other—laying the foundation for a more respectful future.
